Fundamentals First, Inc. is pleased to offer an Instructional League for children in grades K-2.
The primary goal of the Instructional League is to have children at these grade levels get a solid understanding of the court, the basic terminology, and the an appreciation of the fun that basketball offers.
The games will be run in a slightly different format than most leagues. The two will partner together before they “compete” and work on various drills with each other for about fifteen minutes. Once the drills are completed the two teams will play a game. There will be officials on the court that not only officiate, but provide direction and assistance to the children on the court. It’s like having another coach on the floor with the kids.
Children will be taught to play man to man defense and begin the basics of help defense.

What time should we arrive for our game?
ABout 5-10 minutes before the scheduled start time.
What uniform should my child wear?
each child will receive a team specific color t-shirt the first week they play. they should also come wearing athletic shoes & shorts or sweats.
Are there separate practices?
the children will spend the first 10-15 minutes of the hour practicing various drills and then will play a game the remainder of the time.
How long do they play?
The practice and game will last for 50-55 minutes total. all practices /games will start on the hour.
how do we enter the gym?
enter the gym through the locker room to drop off your child then head up to the stands to watch the fun.
